Getting Started

How to Add Your Home

Adding your home to SeasonKeep takes about 3 minutes. Our onboarding wizard guides you through each step so we can build a maintenance calendar tailored to your specific home.

Welcome

The wizard starts with a brief welcome screen introducing your personalized maintenance plan. Click Get Started to begin.

Step 1: Location

Enter your 5-digit zip code. SeasonKeep uses this to determine your climate zone, which affects when and how often certain tasks are scheduled. For example, homes in cold climates need winterization tasks that warm-climate homes don't. If the automatic lookup doesn't match your area, you can manually select your zone.

Step 2: Home Basics

Tell us about your home's fundamentals:

  • Year Built — Older homes may need more frequent inspections for aging systems
  • Square Footage — Helps estimate material costs
  • Number of Stories — Affects tasks like gutter cleaning and exterior painting
  • Property Type — Single-family, condo, townhouse, or duplex

Step 3: Heating & Cooling

Select your HVAC type (forced air gas, heat pump, boiler, radiant, electric baseboard, propane, or "I don't know"), whether you have central air conditioning, and your system's age. Don't know your HVAC type? Select "I don't know" and we'll include general tasks covering common systems.

Step 4: Roof

Choose your roof material and approximate age. Different materials have very different maintenance needs and lifespans.

Step 5: Other Systems

Provide details about your water heater type and age, water source (municipal or well), and sewer type (municipal or septic). Well water and septic systems require specialized maintenance.

Step 6: Features

Toggle on features your home has — pool, garage, basement, fireplace, solar panels, and more. Each adds relevant tasks to your calendar. If you have pets, toggle that on and enter how many — pet hair affects HVAC filter schedules.

Step 7: Task Filter

Choose your minimum task priority level. SeasonKeep shows a preview of how many tasks would be included at each threshold, so you can find the right balance between comprehensive coverage and a manageable schedule. You can always change this later in settings.

Step 8: Review and Generate

Review everything in a summary view. Click Edit next to any section to make changes. When everything looks right, click Generate My Calendar to create your home.
