Understanding Tasks

How Reminders Work

SeasonKeep sends you reminders so you never miss a maintenance task. Here's how the different notification types work and how to customize them.

Daily Task Reminders

Each morning at 8:00 AM in your local time zone, SeasonKeep checks whether you have any tasks that need your attention and emails you a digest. Daily reminders are controlled by two independent toggles so you only get the nudges you want:

  • Upcoming task reminders — a lead-time reminder before tasks are due (you choose 1, 3, 7, or 14 days ahead). Available on Home Plan and above.
  • Overdue task alerts — a heads-up when a task is past its due date and still not complete. Available on all plans, including the free tier.

When both are on, you receive a single combined digest per day. When only one is on, the digest shows just that section.

Weekly Digest

Each week, you receive a Weekly Digest email summarizing your upcoming week (delivered on the day you choose — Monday by default). It includes:

  • Tasks due this week, organized by day
  • Any overdue tasks that still need attention
  • Your current home health score
  • A quick count of tasks completed last week

The weekly digest gives you a clear picture of what's ahead so you can plan your time.

Seasonal Summaries

Four times a year — at the start of March, June, September, and December — you receive a Seasonal Summary (available on Home Plan and above). This longer email covers:

  • A recap of what you accomplished last season
  • Key tasks coming up in the new season
  • Seasonal tips relevant to your climate zone (e.g., winterization reminders for cold climates, hurricane prep for coastal areas)
  • Your home health score trend over the past three months

Customizing Your Preferences

You can control which notifications you receive and how you receive them. Go to Settings > Notifications to adjust:

  • Email notifications — Toggle daily reminders, weekly digests, and seasonal summaries on or off individually
  • Lead time — Choose how many days before a task's due date you want to be reminded (1, 3, 7, or 14 days)

Unsubscribing

Every email includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Clicking it takes you to a preferences page where you can turn off specific notification types without affecting your account. You can also manage all notification settings from the Settings page in the app.
